Youth Dance Maker's Initiative acknowledges the people of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Custodians of the land and surrounding waters where we meet, create and perform. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging, recognising the rich customs and practices that have taken place here for thousands of years, and extend that respect to all First Nations people.

We provide an inclusive environment where individuality is celebrated.
We empower young people to embrace who they are, express themselves and engage in positive experiences that have a lifelong impact.
We acknowledge that all children are vulnerable and have a right to feel and be safe, respected, valued and protected from harm.
All staff, contractors and volunteers working with Youth Dance Maker's Initiative are required to adhere to child safe principles, expectations and behaviour when engaging with young people and take all necessary steps to prevent and protect children from mental and physical abuse and neglect.
All organisations in Victoria that provide services or facilities for children are required to comply with Child Safe Standards, to ensure that the safety of children is promoted, child abuse is prevented and allegations of child abuse are properly responded to.
