Child Safe Statement

The team at Youth Dance Maker's Initiative are committed to the safety of all young people.

We provide an inclusive environment where individuality is celebrated.

We empower young people to embrace who they are, express themselves and engage in positive experiences that have a lifelong impact.

We acknowledge that all children are vulnerable and have a right to feel and be safe, respected, valued and protected from harm.

All staff, contractors and volunteers working with Youth Dance Maker's Initiative are required to adhere to child safe principles, expectations and behaviour when engaging with young people and take all necessary steps to prevent and protect children from mental and physical abuse and neglect.

All organisations in Victoria that provide services or facilities for children are required to comply with Child Safe Standards, to ensure that the safety of children is promoted, child abuse is prevented and allegations of child abuse are properly responded to. For more information, visit https://dhhs.vic.gov.au/publications/child-safe-standards.

Youth Dance Maker's Initiative acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land and surrounding waters where we meet, create and perform, the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We recognise the rich customs and practices that have taken place on these lands for thousands of years and pay our respects to all First Nations people.

Youth Dance Maker's Initiative celebrates diversity, equal opportunity and strive to create a culturally safe and inclusive environment.
