Child Safe Statement
The team at Youth Dance Makers Initiative are committed to the safety of all young people. We provide an inclusive environment where individuality is celebrated. We empower young people to embrace who they are, express themselves and engage in positive experiences that have a lifelong impact.
We acknowledge that all children are vulnerable and have a right to feel and be safe, respected, valued and protected from harm. All staff, contractors and volunteers working with Youth Dance Makers Initiative are required to adhere to child safe principles, expectations and behaviour when engaging with young people and take all necessary steps to prevent and protect children from mental and physical abuse and neglect.
All organisations in Victoria that provide services or facilities for children are required to comply with Child Safe Standards, to ensure that the safety of children is promoted, child abuse is prevented and allegations of child abuse are properly responded to. COVID SAFE: Youth Dance Markers Initiative implement COVID Safe practices that aim to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We operate in accordance with current Victorian Government recommendations including social distancing and the wearing of masks when relevant. All staff, contractors, volunteers, participants and audience members must be double vaccinated to attend onsite and must not attend if they are feeling unwell.
Participants and families will receive a copy of the COVID Safe Plan prior to attending the April intensive. In the event that it is deemed too unsafe for the program to go ahead participants and families will be notified and contingencies put in place.
